The public is invited to Montauk State Park for Arbor Day to celebrate the benefits of trees. The event will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at the Dorman L. Steelman Lodge.
From personal health to protection from weather and soil erosion to the mysterious world of wildlife, visitors will explore what a little twig can become if nurtured and cared for properly. Free tree seedlings will be handed out to park visitors (while supplies last). Trees will be provided courtesy of Missouri Department of Conservation’s George White Nursery. Visitors can also sign up for a special drawing for rare Ozark Chinquapin (Chestnut) seed. This special event is co-sponsored by Missouri State Parks in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
