Experience the wonder of American’s amazing birds of prey when the World Bird Sanctuary from St. Louis presents its program at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at Sam A. Baker State Park near Patterson. The program will be held in the park’s amphitheater and is free to the public.
The interactive program will feature the spectacular raptors of Missouri, including hawks, owls and falcons. Seating is limited so visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
Sam A. Baker State Park is located four miles north of Patterson on Hwy. 143 in Wayne County. For more information about the event, call the park naturalist at 573-856-4514. Missouri State Parks is supported by the one-tenth of one-percent Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax, which accounts for approximately 75 percent of the budget to repair, improve and maintain state parks and historic sites.
