JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 5, 2017 – As summer approaches, the prairie is ablaze with color, making it a perfect time to take a wildflower walk at Prairie State Park near Mindenmines. The walk will be at 10 a.m. on June 10 and will begin at the park’s Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center.
The walk will be among green grasses and colorful wildflowers to learn more about the amazing prairie ecosystem. The hike will be 1.5-2 miles long and will last about two hours. Participants should dress for the weather and wear long pants and sturdy shoes. It is recommended to bring insect repellent, water and a camera.
