JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 11, 2017 – The prairie will be ablaze with summer color during the free wildflower walk July 15 at Prairie State Park near Mindenmines. The guided walk will begin at 10 a.m. from the park’s Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center.
The walk will take participants among green grasses and colorful wildflowers as they learn about the prairie ecosystem. Hikers should dress for the weather and for walking through the prairie. They should wear long pants and sturdy shoes and bring water, insect repellent, sunscreen and a camera. The hike will cover about 1.5 miles and last around two hours.
