JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 17, 2018 – Washington State Park invites the public to its Summer On-Season Kickoff celebration Memorial Day weekend Friday, May 25, through Monday, May 28. The celebration signals the start of the weekly programming series provided by the park’s interpretive staff throughout the summer.

The celebration begins at 7 p.m. Friday evening with an ice cream social at the park’s campground entrance. Participants will hear about upcoming programs and events at the park and will have the opportunity to make their own ice cream.

The celebration will conclude Memorial Day with a special naturalist program beginning at 9 a.m. at the park’s campground amphitheater. The program will include information about the Missouri State Parks Explorer Patch program and the Washington State Park Discovery Patch program.
