Guests are invited to the program "Seize the Prey" at Thousand Hills State Park. This program will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 13 at the point shelter of Thousand Hills State Park located near Kirksville.
Raptors are predators that are both ferocious and graceful and are usually admired from afar. This program will give visitors the opportunity to see the unique and surprising lives of raptors up close. The Raptor Rehabilitation Project of University of Missouri, Columbia will be present along with a few of their birds such as falcons, hawks and owls.
This event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or towel to sit on during the program. There will be restrooms for visitors and cold water fire hydrants to fill drink containers.
Thousand Hills State Park is located two miles west of Kirksville in Adair County. For more information about the event, call 660-665-6506.
