JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 11, 2018 – Professional photographer Al Griffin will be the featured speaker and leader during a photo walk at Bennett Spring State Park 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19. The event will start at the park’s nature center with Griffin leading a discussion of the photographic principles and techniques of taking images of nature in the beautiful Ozarks environment, which will then be practiced during the walk. Afterward, participants have an opportunity to ask questions about the successes and challenges encountered during the walk.

This photo event is open to anyone interested in taking better pictures of the Ozarks’ natural beauty. The photo walk is designed for participants to move along one of the many trails in Bennett Spring State Park and take photos of subjects such as plants, insects or animals that are found along the trail. Participants will learn that success in photography does not depend upon equipment as much as technique.

Guest leader Al Griffin is a professional photographer who does commercial and fine art photography. His commercial work has been published in a variety of magazines and his fine art images have been exhibited in New York and Paris.

Participants are encouraged to bring a camera, dress appropriately for outdoor weather and wear comfortable shoes. Insect repellent is strongly recommended. Those who do not own a camera may use their cell phone cameras. The principles of photography will be practiced and applied to all cameras equally.

Bennett Spring State Park is located 12 miles west of Lebanon on Highway 64. For more information about this event, call the park’s nature center at 417-532-3925.
