JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 14, 2017 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded a $50,000 Small Community Engineering Assistance Program grant to Public Water Supply District No. 3 of Franklin County to evaluate wastewater treatment upgrades and collection system repairs.

The district will use the grant funds to prepare a facility plan that addresses the necessary wastewater treatment and collection system improvements to minimize the number of treatment facilities, for planning purposes, and to evaluate how the wastewater system will respond to potential future requirements.  The facility plan is estimated to cost $62,500 and is expected to be completed in spring 2019.

The Department of Natural Resources is committed to working with communities to assist with water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects. The department’s Water Protection Financial Assistance Center assists with funding for communities with water quality, wastewater and drinking water infrastructure needs.
