JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 25, 2017 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded a $37,973 Small Community Engineering Assistance Program grant to the city of Lake Lotawana to evaluate wastewater treatment upgrades and collection system repairs.
The city will use the grant funds to develop a facility plan to evaluate inflow and infiltration problems in the collection system, and for planning purposes, to evaluate how the wastewater system will respond to potential future requirements. The facility plan is estimated to cost $47,467 and is expected to be completed in Spring 2019.
The Department of Natural Resources is committed to working with communities to assist with water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects. The department’s Water Protection Financial Assistance Center assists with funding for communities with water quality, wastewater and drinking water infrastructure needs.
