Josh Young, Missouri Humanities Speaker, will present a program based on accounts from his book "Myths and Mysteries of Missouri" from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Battle of Lexington State Historic Site in Lexington.
Young will lead guests on an exciting journey around the state exploring stories such as Tom Bass, a former slave who became a renowned horseman, Ella Ewing, one of the tallest women who ever lived, and Jesse James. Visitors will also get to see the marvels of Missouri in a variety of stories ranging from mastodons to magic lights.
