JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 29, 2017 – Guests can step back in time at the Living History Day Sept. 9 at Big Oak Tree State Park near East Prairie. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to the public.
Many old-time skills and demonstrations will be offered and include rope making, basket weaving, flint knapping and more. The Southeast Explorer Mobile Learning Center will feature exhibits and there will be uniforms and equipment from World War II on display. Guests can bring a lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of bluegrass music by "Bluegrass Revival." Barbecue and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
