JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 14, 2018 – Prairie State Park will host its eighth annual Hug a Herp Day
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the park. The public is invited to see and learn about a wide range of live reptiles and amphibians like snakes, turtles, frogs, toads and salamanders.
This event will help dispel myths and rumors about reptiles and amphibians. Participants will watch a movie titled "The Snakes Tale" throughout the day. It will also give people a chance to see and touch some of the animals up close and make an amphibian or reptile craft to take home.
