JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 7, 2017 – Father’s Day weekend is the perfect time for dads to take their children fishing at a Kids Fishing Day June 17 at Wallace State Park near Cameron. This free event will be from 9 a.m. until noon and is open to the public.

Kids from 5 to 12 years old can cast their lines into the park’s Lake Allaman. Fishing poles will be provided to the first 40 kids that register that morning. Kids that bring their own poles do not need to register. Bait and assistance will be provided and there will be a drawing for prizes. A nature display will be set up in the park’s open shelterhouse.

Wallace State Park is located 6 miles south of Cameron on Hwy. 121. From Interstate 35, visitors should take Exit 48, go south on Hwy. 69 for one-half mile and then take Hwy. 121 for one mile to park entrance.
