Visitors are invited to spend a day outdoors to help one of Missouri's most scenic state parks at "Keep Baker Beautiful Day" at Sam A. Baker State Park. The 25th annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 29.

This event recognizes both Earth Day and Missouri Beautification Month by encouraging volunteers to help clean up Sam A. Baker State Park for the upcoming visitation season.  There will be assignments for all ages. Planting, trail care, and litter patrol are just a few of the projects planned for the day.  After the cleanup activities, volunteers will receive a free picnic lunch.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a pair of work gloves, drinking water and a pair of closed toed shoes. 

For more information, contact the park at 573-856-4514. Call 573-856-4411 by April 27 to register. In case of severe or inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.  Volunteers will meet at the park's visitor center at 8:30 a.m. to receive project assignments and meet other volunteers.
