Kansas City residents are invited to experience Lewis and Clark State Park in Rushville during a group tour and a day of fun. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the shuttle will depart 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22 from the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center. The event does require registration due to limited availability.

The program will include a Keelboat presentation of Lewis and Clark's journey. The group will also tour and experience the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Plaza, which was incorporated into the landscape of the park in 2006.

Attendees should plan to bring a lunch to enjoy at the park’s historic stone picnic shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. Coolers with ice will be provided.
