JEFFERSON CITY, MO --The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will consider nominations to the National Register of Historic Places during its quarterly meeting at 9 a.m., May 5, in the LaCharrette Conference Room at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, located at 1101 Riverside Drive in Jefferson City.

One district and nine individual property nominations are scheduled to be considered for listing in the National Register. The list includes the following commercial and institutional properties and districts.  

  • ACME Cleansing Company Building, 3200 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Jackson County
  • Agee Apartments Historic District, 3200-3218 Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Jackson County (Historic Colonnade Apartment Buildings of Kansas City, Missouri, MPDF)
  • Gotham Apartments, 2718 Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Jackson County (Historic Colonnade Apartment Buildings of Kansas City, Missouri, MPDF)
  • Kansas City Public Library and Board of Education Building, 1211 McGee Street, Kansas City, Jackson County
  • Blenheim School, 2411 East 70th Terrace, Kansas City, Jackson County (Historic Resources of the Kansas City Missouri Public Schools District Pre-1970 MPDF)
  • Gillis Orphans’ Home, 2119 Tracy Avenue, Kansas City, Jackson County
  • Beverly Apartments, 529 Cherry Street, Springfield, Greene County (Historic and Architectural Resources of Springfield, Missouri MPDF),
  • Luzier Special Formula Laboratories Building, 3216 Gillham Plaza, Kansas City, Jackson County
  • First Presbyterian Church, 201 South High Street, Kirksville, Adair County

The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is a 12-member group of historians, architects, archaeologists and citizens with an interest in historic preservation. The council is appointed by the governor and works with the Department of Natural Resources' State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register of Historic Places program for Missouri. The council meets quarterly to review Missouri property nominations to the National Register, the nation's honor roll of historic properties. Approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.
