The public is invited to celebrate National Public Lands Day by attending the annual Green Living Fair and Fall Festival at Onondaga Cave State Park near Leasburg. The free festival will feature with fun and educational activities for all ages from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 24.

The event will feature a variety of topics including educational and hands-on activities, local farm-raised products, green products, demonstrations, displays and information on solar thermal energy, gardening and sustainable living.

The public will also be invited to participate in a Bio Blitz at the park. Volunteers can sign up to assist team leaders in recording the park’s flora and fauna, including wildflowers, birds, reptiles, amphibians, trees and insects.

Onondaga Cave is located seven miles southeast of the Leasburg exit off Interstate 44 on Hwy. H. For more information about the event, contact the park at 573-245-6576. Missouri State Parks is supported by the one-tenth of one-percent Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax, which accounts for approximately 75 percent of the budget to repair, improve and maintain state parks and historic sites.
