JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 30, 2019 – Representatives from Missouri State Parks invite the public to an informational meeting about Graham Cave State Park at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at the park's lower picnic area pavilion.
The public meeting is being hosted in conjunction with the annual Archaeology Day, which includes such activities as atlatl (dart and spear throwing) demonstrations, atlatl member competition, Dutch oven cooking, flint knapping and deer-bone fishhook making demonstrations, storytelling, historic and prehistoric artifact displays and several other activities.
Representatives from the park will be on hand to provide information about the park and to answer questions. The public is invited to share comments and ask questions about the park and its operations.
Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings, which are being held in all state parks and historic sites, help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings give staff the opportunity to let people know the current status and future plans for the parks and historic sites, and they offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.
Graham Cave State Park is located off Interstate 70, between Kingdom City and St. Louis, on Highway TT, 2 miles west of Highway 161 at the 170 Exit in Danville. For more information about the public information meeting or about other events at the park, call 573-564-3476.
