JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 14, 2018 – Graham Cave State Park invites artists of every skill level to bring their chair, easel and medium of choice to enjoy a day of capturing the park’s beautiful landscapes and natural features, including Graham Cave itself. The event begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. with a friendly competition of artwork focusing on Graham Cave.

This event is free and open to the public, though reservations are required. Anyone planning to attend and participate in the art competition can make a reservation by calling the park office at 573-564-3476. Participants should bring their own chair, easel, table and any other art supplies they will need. Insect repellent is strongly recommended. The park will provide drinking water, trash receptacles and paper towels.

Artwork to be entered in the competition must be completed and displayed on the tables provided next to Graham Cave no later than 3 p.m. Participants are asked to fill out an entry form, available onsite and place it with their artwork. The first and second place winners in each age group (12 and younger, 13 to 19, and 20 and older) will be displayed in the park office for the rest of the season. All styles of artwork will be considered, including prehistoric, historic, realistic, imaginative and abstract, but must include some aspect of Graham Cave.
