JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 9, 2018 – Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is hosting a special educational event to help people get ready for the arrival of monarch butterflies in Missouri. The free, family-friendly program will be held in the park’s Visitor Center from 2 to 3 p.m., March 24.

Participants will learn about monarch butterflies and how they can help the beautiful insects by creating a butterfly garden at home. Butterfly friendly plants will be available for participants to take home, though supplies are limited.
