JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 30, 2019 – Music is an important part of Native American culture. It is used in traditional ceremonies, rituals and in everyday life. Rattles are a common instrument used by tribes all across the country and are typically made of materials common to each individual environment. Join park staff at Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center at Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. for an opportunity to learn about the different types of rattles and create one of your very own!
This event is free and open to the public. The craft is suited for kids, but adults are welcome to participate.
