First Missouri State Capitol presents reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

First Missouri State Capitol presents reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 26, 2019 – Enjoy a special candlelight reading of "’Twas the Night Before Christmas," written by Clement Clarke Moore, with musical accompaniment in the historic Chauncey Shepard residence at the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site.

The character portrayal of this historic author in period dress, along with the cozy setting for this event, will help you step back in time to 1823 when the story was written. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and come hear the story like never before. Readings will happen every 15 minutes on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 29 to Dec. 20. The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited.

The First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site is located at 200 South Main St. in St. Charles. For more information about this event, please call the historic site at 636-940-3322.
