Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site hosts Whitewash Day April 20

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 5, 2019 – Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site invites the public to the program "Historical Skills: Whitewash" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, Saturday, April 20.

Whitewash was an affordable paint of the 19th century. It was used not only on the White House in Washington D.C., but also on the Nathan Boone Home. Join staff and learn how whitewash was made. You can also lend a hand whitewashing the fence around the Boone home.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather.
