Battle of Athens State Historic Site hosts combined public meeting Sept. 20

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 7, 2018 – Battle of Athens State Historic Site invites the public to a combined informational meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the historic sites’ shelter house. The public is invited to share comments about Battle of Athens and Illiniwek Village state historic sites and their operations. Historic site staff will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings, which are being held in all state parks and historic sites, help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings give staff the opportunity to let people know the current status and future plans for the park or historic site, and they offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.

Battle of Athens State Historic Site is located at 12378 Athens State Park Rd., Revere. For more information about the meeting, call 660-877-3871.
