Bat Fest 2015 to be held at Onondaga Cave State Park April 12

Missouri State Parks and the Onondaga Friends Association will host the Midwest Bat Fest at Onondaga Cave State Park on Sunday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sponsored and coordinated by the World Bird Sanctuary, the event will begin on Saturday, April 11 at the World Bird Sanctuary with a host of events and then conclude on Sunday, April 12 at Onondaga Cave State Park.

Participants from a number of agencies and organizations focusing on education associated with bats will be on site at both locations to interact with guests about the importance of bat conservation. Representatives from Incredible Bats will be presenting bat programs at the park. Their shows, scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. will feature African Straw Colored Fruit Bats. When not performing, the bats will be on display in the visitor center to observe. A host of other exhibits will be available to learn about bat conservation, cave restoration and bat biology.
