At Home on the Frontlines event May 12 at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 7, 2018 – Several Civil War battles took place in Missouri towns like Lexington, often bringing the war’s frontline right to people’s doorsteps. The public is invited to experience this aspect of the Civil War during the At Home on the Frontlines event at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12.

The event will feature units of period-correct historical re-enactors going through military drills, including loading and firing Civil War-era cannons. Also featured will be craftsmen demonstrating traditional skills such as quilting, rope making, woodworking and toy making.

Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is located 1101 Delaware Street, Lexington. For more information about the event, call the historic site at 660-259-4654.
