Archeology Day at Knob Noster State Park Sept. 12

The public is invited to attend the park’s third annual “Archaeology Day” at Knob Noster State Park. The event will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at the park’s Visitor Center.

Members of the Sedalia-West Central Missouri Archaeological Society, a chapter of the Missouri Archaeological Society, will be at the park to teach visitors about Missouri archaeology from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Sedalia Chapter will have a table of artifacts for guests to view. Visitors are also invited to bring in an artifact for assistance in identification by society members.

At 3:30 p.m., visitors will be able to get a fun hands-on approach to archaeology with “Digging into Archaeology.”

This event is free and open to the public, and it is presented in cooperation with Missouri Archaeological Society and Missouri State Parks.
