Internships - get paid to help us protect Missouri's natural resources.

The Summer Professional Development Program is designed to provide college students or recent graduates with real-life experience working alongside the Department’s engineers, scientists, natural resource managers and other professionals. There are paid and unpaid opportunities. Most majors will be considered with special consideration given to: Agriculture, Architecture, Atmospheric Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Historic Preservation, History, Interpretation, Landscaping, Museum Studies, Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation, Tourism, Accounting, Business Administration, and Human Resources.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources protects our air, land, water, and mineral resources; preserves our unique natural and historic places; and provides recreational and learning opportunities, while promoting the environmentally sound operations of businesses, communities, agriculture, and industry for the benefit of all Missourians. The department's mission requires a diverse workforce statewide and includes 91 state parks and historic sites throughout Missouri. Opportunities with the Summer Professional Development Program exist statewide. Candidates can apply to any or all of the following programs with opportunities: Division of Environmental Quality, Missouri State Parks, Division of Administrative Support and Missouri Geological Survey.


The application deadline for 2019 Summer Professional Development Program internships was March 15, 2019. All notifications of placement will be made no later than May 17, 2019.
