Element 4 - MOCWIS Monitoring Assessment

A portion of MoCWIS was implemented to house water quality data that is used to assess the status of Missouri’s waters. This system integrates GIS components to link the water quality data with WQS, provides the ability to assess waters for compliance with WQS, and then builds the 303(d) Impaired Waters List and 305(b) Integrated Report as required by the Clean Water Act. Data is compiled and sent to the Assessment and Total Maximum Daily Load Tracking and Implementation¬† System, or ATTAINS, through MoCWIS, as well as to the STOrage and RETrieval System, or STORET. It also allows sharing of data publically - dnr.mo.gov/mocwis_public/wqa/waterbodySearch.do
