The regulatory impact report (RIR) for proposed revisions to 10 CSR 20-8.130, Pumping Stations, is available for public review and comment until Sept. 14, 2022. Written comments may be submitted by mail to Steve Hamm, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Protection Program, P.O. Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0176 or online through the Regulatory Action Tracking System. Please include your contact information: name, email address and phone number.

An RIR is required at the beginning of the rulemaking process for rules recommending environmental standards or conditions. It documents the environmental and economic costs and benefits associated with the proposed rule changes. The department invites the public to review and submit comments to help ensure that our regulations provide required protections but do not add unneeded costs. Only the RIR is open for public comment at this time. The proposed rule will be open for public comment at a later date.

The proposed rule amendment allows for an alternative design of emergency operations at sewage pump stations in cases where the required storage is not practicable. For additional details please see the rulemaking report.
