The department, representing the State of Missouri as a trustee for Missouri’s natural resources, finalized a restoration plan for the Adair and Logan Creeks Watershed project. The final restoration plan restores resources within the Adair and Logan creeks watershed, located in Reynolds county. This area was injured by impacts from lead mining in the Viburnum Trend Lead Mining District. The project targets restoring and protecting degraded stream banks and corridors, floodplains and uplands. The goal of the project is to restore and protect terrestrial and aquatic natural resources and the ecological services they provide. Funding for the proposed restoration project comes from a settlement with Nadist LLC for natural resource injuries from releases of hazardous substances due to mining activities on their leased property at the Sweetwater Mine and Mill Complex in Reynolds county.
