The department proposes to issue a Section 401 Water Quality Certification to Clayton Properties Group Inc., doing business as Summit Homes, subject to general or special conditions. The department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the proposed certification conditions until Oct. 14, 2021. The public can review the proposed certification conditions below. Other relevant information is available for review and copying upon request. Written comments may be submitted by mail to Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Quality Certification, PO Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0176 or by email to wpsc401cert@dnr.mo.gov. Please include the certification number in the comment letter.

Clayton Properties requested Section 401 Water Quality Certification accompany the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Permit NWK-2021-00302. Clayton Properties is constructing a single-family residential development on approximately 25 acres of agricultural land, surrounded by similar residential development. The proposed project site is located east of Highway 7, south of S.W. Chapman Farms Drive and north of Mason School Road, in Blue Springs, Missouri. The development would result in the permanent fill of approximately 1.16 acres of jurisdictional wetland and 0.18 acre of non-jurisdictional wetland.
