Compost Bin Design

A very simple compost bin that is quick to make, neat to use and costs very little can be made from snow fencing. Simply roll out and cut a 12 foot length of snow fence. Fasten the ends together with short lengths of mechanic’s wire or old hanger wire. Place the bin where the compost pile is to be started and start building the heap inside the bin. The compost pile should be turned periodically to further accelerate decomposition. For easy turning of the pile, disassemble the bin by removing the end wires. Reassemble the cylinder next to the pile and turn the compost material into the bin.
