JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MAY 5, 2008 -- Connect with old friends and reminisce around a campfire at the Camp Pin Oak Girl Scout Reunion to be held Sept. 5 through Sept. 7 at Camp Pin Oak in Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Kaiser. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the Missouri State Parks Foundation and the Girl Scouts-Heart of Missouri Council, the reunion is open to former Girl Scout campers and counselors over the age of 18.
Share stories and memorabilia and relive memories during this fun-filled weekend. Many activities are planned, including flag ceremonies, pontoon boat tours of the lake area, leisurely hikes through camp and a visit to one of the outlying overnight sites. And, of course, what is camp without some arts and crafts, a nature program and singing around the campfire? Camp will end with the traditional boat ceremony with the reading of I am Camp…the Legend of Petah.
Registration for the reunion is open now and will run through Aug. 15. Visit the reunion Web site at http://www.mostateparks.com/gsreunion.htm or call the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) for more information about the event or to request a registration brochure.
