JEFFERSON CITY, MO., APRIL 25, 2008 - Join a park naturalist on May 10 for a five-mile hike into the Mudlick Natural Area at Sam A. Baker State Park near Patterson. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the hike will begin at 9 a.m. and last until around 2 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Experience the park's scenic Mudlick Hollow and more. Discover the diverse wildflowers found on the trail, the historical structures depicting the New Deal Era and the unique geology of the St. Francois Mountains. The trail is rugged and steep in some places, so wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of snacks and water. Meet at the Mudlick Trail trailhead, across from the park store.
