JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 25, 2004 - A section of Katy Trail State Park between Jefferson City and Hartsburg will be closed temporarily for repairs during November, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources announced today.

The trail will be closed from milepost marker 144.3 (Bluffmont Estates) to milepost marker 149.5 at the east end of Claysville. The repair project is about four miles north of the North Jefferson trailhead at milepost marker 147.2. Crews will repair a damaged concrete box culvert, which is across a small stream about one-half mile north of Cedar Creek.

Repairs on this section of trail will begin Nov. 1 and should be completed by Nov. 26. Repairs will include repairing the base of the culvert, and stabilizing the bank and shoulder adjacent to the wing wall. Once the repair work begins, the trail will be closed and there is no designated detour route.

Katy Trail State Park runs for 225 miles between St. Charles and Clinton.
