Volume 41-191 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oct. 7, 2013
Jefferson City, Mo. - The public is invited to join in the fun at Wallace State Park near Cameron on Saturday, Oct 19, for the annual Fall Fun Event. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event begins at 10 a.m. at the campground amphitheater.
This year’s activities include, “Find the Pumpkin,” a trail hiking adventure that challenges hikers to find hidden pumpkins on the trails for prizes. Visitors can also view a live birds of prey presentation by Operation Wildlife at 2 p.m., and in the evening there will be a double feature movie presentation of “Spiders: A Life with Silk” and “Owls of Missouri,” beginning at 7:30 p.m.
A visit to Wallace State Park is also a great opportunity to log miles as a part of the Governor’s 100 Missouri Miles challenge. To celebrate Missouri’s distinction as the “Best Trails State” by American Trails and to encourage Missourians to enjoy the outdoors, Gov. Jay Nixon and First Lady Georganne Nixon are inviting Missourians to join them in completing 100 Missouri Miles of outdoor physical activity by the end of the year.
