Bug Day and Informational meeting at Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park Aug. 9

Jefferson City, Mo. - The public is invited to Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park’s annual Bug Day event and informational meeting on Saturday, Aug. 9. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the River Hills Visitor Center.

Starting at 10 a.m. visitors will be able to explore the various displays set up around the exhibit hall. At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., there will be performances of “NOW That’s What I Call Bugs!” Come hear your favorite tunes, catered to the world of bugs! Throughout the day games and crafts will also be available, including bug origami, face painting and Bug Olympics. The event is free and open to the public.

During this time, park representatives will be available to discuss future plans for the facility and answer questions. Visitors are invited to share feedback and suggestions about park services and operations. This open-house style meeting is part of an ongoing effort by Missouri State Parks to ensure citizens have input regarding the facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites.

Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park is located 20 miles west of St. Louis on Highway BA, between U.S 40 and Highway 100.
