Camden County Water District No. 5 awarded $100,000 for wastewater expansion

Jefferson City, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded Camden County Public Water Supply District No. 5 a $100,000 low-interest loan to expand its sewer collection system to a previously unserved subdivision.

The district will construct additional grinder stations, manholes, cleanouts and valves to connect 15 homes in the Mission Hills West Subdivision to the current wastewater collection system. The project is estimated to cost $255,000 and expected to be completed in May 2014.

This loan will be financed through repayments of loans made from water pollution control bonds. The department’s Financial Assistance Center provides funding to assist communities with infrastructure needs for water quality, wastewater and drinking water. A portion of the funding will be targeted toward green infrastructure, water and energy efficiency and environmentally innovative projects.

The Department of Natural Resources’ Water Protection Program will administer the loan funds and is committed to working with communities to assist with efforts that support water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects and provide a financial savings.
