Informational meeting planned April 17 for Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MARCH 29, 2011 – The public is invited to provide input at an informational meeting Sunday, April 17 at Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site in Kansas City. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the home and the public is invited to attend.
Site staff will be on hand to discuss recent changes at the Benton home, plans for future projects, and the State Parks Youth Corps program. Guided tours of the home and studio will be available before and after the meeting. After the meeting, a short presentation will be given about the Confederate cavalry saber used by Tom Benton’s father, Col. Maecenas E Benton. Light refreshments will be served.
The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort to ensure the public has input on state parks and historic sites.
