Learn to Camp Program planned April 16-17 at Crowder State Park

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MARCH 16, 2011 – Have you always wanted to take your kids camping but were not sure how to learn the basics? You have the opportunity at a Learn to Camp Program April 16-17 at Crowder State Park near Trenton.
This is an opportunity for families to learn the basics of camping by trained staff. The event will be 3 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday. During the program, participants will learn about tent setup, campfire cooking, hiking basics and other important things to know to enjoy the outdoors. Those attending the program will also go on a hike and complete a nature craft. Participants must pre-register by April 8 by calling the park at 660-359-6473.
Crowder State Park is located west of Trenton off Highway 6. The park features a campground, a lake for fishing and swimming, and trails for hikers, equestrians and bicyclists. For more information, call the park or visit mostateparks.com.
