JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 14, 2010 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 20 to discuss issues related to the Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park in West Alton, the eastern portion of Katy Trail State Park and the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site. The meeting will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the back yard of the First Missouri State Capitol in St. Charles and the public is invited to attend.
An open house forum during the site's Missouri Day event will allow visitors to participate in the special event, ask staff questions and give ideas for events and site use at these three facilities. This free event celebrates Missouri Day and allows visitors to explore many of Missouri's state symbols.
The meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services and facilities in state parks and historic sites.
First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site is located at 200-216 Main St. in historic St. Charles. People requiring special accommodations or services to attend the meeting can call the park at 636-940-3322 or the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
