Public information meeting planned Oct. 15 for Big Lake State Park

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 29, 2010-- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold a public information meeting Friday, Oct. 15 at Big Lake State Park near Bigelow. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the park’s picnic shelter and the public is invited.
Park officials will be available to receive comments and input from the public on park operations and projects. An update on flood repairs will be presented as well as plans for continuing repairs and renovations resulting from the 2010 flooding. There will also be a discussion about the park’s long-range development plan, which is being reviewed to coincide with the park’s rebuilding efforts.
This event is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services provided in state parks and historic sites.
Big Lake State Park is located 11 miles southwest of Mound City on Highway 111 in Holt County.
