Land Reclamation Commission to discuss Cape Girardeau County quarry expansion permit at Sept. 23 meeting in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI, SEPT. 22, 2010 -- The Missouri Land Reclamation Commission will discuss a hearing request for a Cape Girardeau County quarry expansion at its Sept. 23 meeting.

The commission will decide whether to grant a request for a formal hearing on the expansion permit application submitted by Strack Excavation for its quarry at 5120 State Highway 74, Cape Girardeau. The company is asking for a permit to expand its current quarry boundary by four acres.

The commission will also discuss mining permitting, reclamation activities and mining enforcement. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Nightingale Creek Conference Room inside the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Dr. in Jefferson City.
