Informational meeting planned April 18 for Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., APRIL 1, 2010 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting Sunday, April 18, to discuss issues related to Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site in Kansas City. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the home and the public is invited.
Site staff will be on hand to discuss recent changes at the Benton Home, plans for future development projects and upcoming exhibit collaborations. Light refreshments will be served. Guided tours of the home and studio will be available before and after the meeting. After the meeting, a short presentation on Thomas Hart Benton’s efforts during the 1951 Kaw River flood will be given.
The informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure the public has input on state parks and historic sites.
