Media Advisory: DNR and city of Cape Girardeau host ceremony for drinking water improvements

WHO: Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Director Mark N. Templeton, Mayor Jay B. Knudtson and the city of Cape Girardeau.
WHAT: Media event to celebrate drinking water improvements made as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
WHEN: March 26 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. The city will provide the media with a tour of its facility at 9:45 a.m.
WHERE: Alliance Water Treatment, 20 East Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.
WHY: The Department of Natural Resources awarded the city of Cape Girardeau with a Recovery Act State Revolving Fund $1,000,000 grant, an $840,721 loan and a $159,279 SRF loan to make necessary drinking water improvements to the facility. The improvements will include the installation of a raw water line and appurtenances.
