Scouting Centennial exhibit scheduled at Elizabeth Rozier Gallery in Jefferson Landing State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. DEC. 23, 2009 — An exhibit commemorating the first century of Scouting in Missouri will be on display Jan. 7 through Feb. 27 in the Elizabeth Rozier Gallery at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site. The exhibit, "Be Prepared: Scouting Centennial" is presented by the Five Rivers District of the Great Rivers Boy Scout Council in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, which operates the state historic site.
The central Missouri district has created an exhibit including memorabilia from the first century of Scouting in Missouri. The exhibit will offer visitors an opportunity to learn about Scout ranks from Cub Scouts to Varsity Scouting. On some Saturdays during the exhibit, Scouts from local troops will serve as docents.
The Elizabeth Rozier Gallery is located in the Union Hotel at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, 101 Jefferson Street in Jefferson City. The gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. except December.
