JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 19, 2009 - In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Friday, Oct. 30 at Thousand Hills State Park near Kirksville. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the park's enclosed shelter and the public is invited.
Representatives from the park will provide information on future plans for the park and answer questions. Visitors are invited to share comments and suggestions about the park. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has remodeled the kitchens and bathrooms in four of the park's rental cabins.
Thousand Hills State Park is located west of Kirksville on Route 6 and south two miles on Highway 157. People requiring special accommodations or services to attend the meeting can call the park at 660-665-6995 or the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
