Public invited to share ideas at an informational meeting regarding Mark Twain State Park

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., OCT. 15, 2009 -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Mark Twain State Park near Florida in Monroe County. The informational meeting will be begin at 6 p.m. in the campground amphitheater and is open to the public.

Recent accomplishments at the park and future plans will be highlighted during the informational meeting. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park's services and operations. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has completed the reconstruction of the Buzzard's Roost Day-Use Area entrance sign after it was destroyed by a traffic accident.

Mark Twain State Park is located near Florida along Hwy 107.
