Public invited to share ideas during an informational meeting regarding Pershing State Park

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Pershing State Park near Laclede. The informational meeting will be begin at 7 p.m. in the amphitheater at the campground and is open to the public.
Recent accomplishments at the park and future plans will be highlighted during the informational meeting. Visitors are invited to share comments on the park's services and operations. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has recently enhanced the protective surfacing in the playgrounds to increase visitor safety and stabilized the foundation of the historic 1890s barn.
Pershing State Park is located 18 miles east of Chillicothe or seven miles west of Brookfield on Highway 36 in Linn County. The park's campground is located approximately one mile south of Highway 36 on Missouri Route 130.
